HMS Tern control tower

On the airfield here they say

In the twilight of the day

You can listen to the pilots

As they talk

From the shadows far away

As the grass begins sway

In the silence round the grounds

They all still walk

Then their voices start to shout

Above the engines as they roar

Watching as the props begin to turn

The chocks are pulled away

A fight for freedom on this day

Fingers crossed that all the pilots will return

In the echoes from the past

As the wind begins to blow

You can hear the voices whisper once again

These figures play their parts

Here forever in our hearts

Continuing the battle, fighting foe
